The team attended 'Next Steps', a networking and knowledge exchange event run by Hidden Liverpool (http://hiddenliverpool.org.uk/) at Calderstones Mansion House. We met representatives from: Engage Liverpool (http://www.engageliverpool.com/), Heritage Lottery Fund (http://www.hlf.org.uk/Pages/Home.aspx), English Heritage (http://www.english-heritage.org.uk/) the Architectural Heritage Fund (http://www.ahfund.org.uk/), Social Enterprise Network (http://www.sentogether.net/) and Agent Marketing (http://www.agentmarketing.co.uk/). We made contacts with other Merseyside based heritage groups such as: Friends of Anfield Cemetery (http://anfieldcemetery.com/), Toxteth Reservoir (http://www.dingle2000.org.uk/), Save Woolton Baths (http://www.wooltonswimming.btck.co.uk/), The Reader Org (http://www.thereader.org.uk/calderstones.aspx), St Luke's Bombed Out Church (http://www.bombedoutchurch.com/) and Byrne Avenue Baths (http://byrneavenuebaths.org/) and a Manchester based group: Ancoats Dispensary (http://www.ancoatsdispensarytrust.co.uk/). The event was a fantastic opportunity to share ideas and best practice, make supportive links and ask questions which were answered by a specialist panel. A twilight seminar included a very interesting talk on 'Heritage regeneration Nantes, France and Liverpool: A comparison' by Thomas Loussarn, a tour of Calderstones Mansion House by the Reader Org's Heritage Stories Maker Richard MacDonald and a further opportunity to network. The team enjoyed this useful and interesting day.

We have appointed our Heritage Development Officer to work with us to develop our Heritage Lottery Fund proposal. We are very please that Hidden Liverpool have featured the former Andrew Carnegie Library as one of their empty buildings. Hidden Liverpool is an exciting yearlong project that will explore some of the city's empty buildings by inviting residents and visitors to share memories, stories and images of buildings that they worked in, visited and used but can no longer access. Why not take a look at http://www.hiddenliverpool.org.uk/memories/buildings? The project has also been featured on Heritage Daily and can be viewed here: http://www.heritagedaily.com/2014/07/ruination-regeneration-and-re-use-the-lister-drive-carnegie-library/104214 Our Heritage Development Officer Kerry wrote a short account for the Day of Archaeology project which can be viewed here: http://www.dayofarchaeology.com/lister-steps-carnegie-community-hub/ We have been featured on the Journal for Community Archaeology and Heritage blog.
