Our Heritage Development Officer took some pictures of the building earlier that day.
We were excited to spend the day with North End Writers to celebrate National Poetry Day. In honour of the 2014 theme 'Remember' we each read the poem 'It was Long Ago' by Eleanor Farjeon in the grounds of the former Andrew Carnegie Library. The poem was selected because it represents our feelings about the former library building. The first lines of the poem read 'I'll tell you, shall I, something I remember? Something that still means a great deal to me. It was long ago.' We also filmed the readings so stay tuned! Our Heritage Development Officer took some pictures of the building earlier that day. One of the members of North End Writers, Liz Fitzpatrick, wrote this wonderful poem for us:
